Job Title: Commercial Asset Management Associate
Company: Centre People Appointments
Main Responsibilities:- Project Budget Administration: Collaborate with Ship Managers to administer project budgets, ensuring effective financial management and control.
- Commercial Analysis: Conduct high-level marine and operational analysis of potential opportunities, identifying areas for growth and improvement.
- Internal Approval Process: Manage the internal approval process, interacting and liaising with technical and commercial teams overseas to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Asset Management Input: Provide asset management input in response to tenders and presentation materials, following up on activities to ensure successful outcomes.
- Client Relationships: Develop relationships with existing and potential clients, as well as other related organizations, to foster strong business connections and partnerships.
- Operational Input: Provide operational input for contractual compliance matters, ensuring that all commercial and ship management contracts are effectively governed and compliant.
- Contract Review: Review and negotiate time charterparty performance claims, reporting to the manager/owner before settlement.
- Stakeholder Updates: Keep all stakeholders fully updated on progress and close out, ensuring transparent communication and collaboration.
- Financial Control: Ensure vigorous control and review of ship technical manager actual spend versus budget, maintaining accurate financial records and reports.
- Reporting: Submit HQ reports as per agreed deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Insurance Support: Support the insurance manager, minimizing the impact on the profit and loss statement.
- Business Reports: Prepare and organize business reports, including monthly KPI scorecards and quarterly business reports submitted to the Board of Directors and Shareholders.
- Delegation: Deputize for the Manager when on holiday or away on business trips, ensuring seamless continuity and coverage.
- Commercial Support: Provide commercial and operational support to business development and project teams as required, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.
- Education: Degree in maritime and/or business.
- Commercial Knowledge: Good working knowledge of LNG/LPG/Tanker shipping commercial operations.
- Contractual Terms: Familiarity with LNG/Tanker time charter/shipbuilding contractual terms and associated commercial agreements.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to read basic financial statements.
- Cultural Awareness: Good cultural awareness with the ability to engage with various stakeholders worldwide.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects independently.
- Commercial Astuteness: Commercially astute with a sharp eye for detail.
- Numerical Skills: Numerically astute and comfortable reporting large numbers to management (USD$ millions).
- Dispute Resolution: Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Organizational Planning: Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Cultural Understanding: Some understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese language would be advantageous.
