About the Role

The Asset Management Associate will work within the Asset Management Group at Ares Management Corporation and assist in formulating and executing asset management strategies on a growing Pan European portfolio across the value add and opportunistic risk spectrum and across different asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver asset level business and repositioning plans across European jurisdictions and asset classes, including leasing activity, capital expenditure, and operating activity.
  • Oversight of third-party operating partners, property management, and other external advisors related to the portfolio.
  • Manage the annual budget process and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Develop strategic asset level plans, including reforecasting and quarterly distribution recommendations.
  • Review and validate monthly third-party reports and assist in the compilation of internal asset management portfolio and investor reports.
  • Liaise with property appraisers on the quarterly valuation process and provide relevant updates.
  • Manage the bank financing process, including compliance reporting, debt covenants, debt service, and performance updates.
  • Assist with liquidity events, including refinancings and disposals.
  • Support acquisition teams with due diligence efforts, including tenant interviews and underwriting assumptions.
  • Assist with wider company initiatives, including ESG and data collection strategies.
  • Maintain and apply strong local market knowledge, including competition analysis and market absorption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of three years direct experience in asset or transaction management preferred.
  • Good numerical reasoning and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong teamwork and initiative, with good business awareness and financial acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form effective relationships with colleagues and teams.
  • Ability to travel across Europe required.
  • Fluent in English, with additional language skills in German, French, or Spanish preferred.
