Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nutrition Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical care, support, and advice for patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Main Duties of the Job

1. Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, carers, and families about complex matters, providing a warm, welcoming, and enabling environment to support therapeutic relationships.

2. Develop specialist knowledge in the area of practice, underpinned by theory.

3. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care, adjusting the programmes of care where indicated, while maintaining the health, safety, and security of self and others in the work area.

4. Contribute to the development of services.

5. Contribute to quality improvement.

6. Support patients, carers, and staff's equality, diversity, and rights.

7. Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practice.

8. Plan, allocate, assess, and provide feedback to team members.

9. Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and/or financial resources.

10. Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal framework for nursing.

1. Current NMC registration.

Post Registration Experience

1. Substantial post-registration experience.

2. Extensive experience of working with patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Qualifications

Essential

1. Degree/diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent nursing qualification and experience).

2. Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).

Skills and Abilities

Desirable

1. Experience of teaching.

2. Experience of audit.
