Assistant Underwriter – Renewable Energy and Power

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our Natural Resources team, focusing on Renewable Energy and Power underwriting. This is a great opportunity to develop your career in a team with long-standing client relationships and define your expertise in underwriting for renewable energy and power.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning process through research and project work, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform underwriting activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Contribute to the recording and measurement of insurance risks, applying sound analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Apply the reinsurance programme to minimize susceptibility to unknown risks, ensuring the company's financial stability.
  • Develop knowledge of market dynamics and market cycles to support business performance, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and delegated underwriting authority, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

About You

  • Previous experience in an Underwriting support role within the renewable energy and Power product line, with a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Good technical, analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, coupled with excellent commercial acumen.
  • Intermediate level understanding of relevant software, including Excel, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
