We are seeking an experienced Energy Underwriter to join our Onshore Energy Team in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving profitable growth by underwriting new and renewal business that aligns with our Line of Business (LoB) targets. Your expertise in Downstream Energy, Power, and Renewables will be instrumental in negotiating terms, pricing, and participation to secure deals that are both competitive and profitable.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new and renewal business to meet profitability targets, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
  • Manage capacity and assess Natural Catastrophe Accumulation using catastrophe models for relevant Lines of Business.
  • Ensure underwriting follows governance frameworks and utilize global pricing tools to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Achieve contract certainty and ensure proper placement of FAC Reinsurance before policy inception.
  • Maintain accurate policy documentation and proactively support policy administration and credit control processes.
  • Help drive new business acquisition and retention by supporting client and broker negotiations.
  • Represent Allianz Commercial positively in the market and build strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Couch and mentor less experienced staff, helping develop the next generation of talent.
