Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse - Leadership Role
Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management of our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our Trust.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and management of nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Trust and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Trust-wide initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless delivery of patient care and services.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior staff members, ensuring their development and growth within the Trust.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs, ensuring the upskilling and reskilling of nursing staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and services.
- Ensure compliance with Trust and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, infection control, and data protection.
Requirements
- RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
- BSc/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training/experience.
- Mentorship/teaching qualification.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice.
- An understanding of audit and research-based nursing practice.
- An understanding of resource management.
- Experience of teaching/assessing/supervising others in a clinical setting.
- Proven experience of managing a ward, including management of rotas, managing competencies, resources, and staff.
- Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information.
- Demonstrates ability to influence and negotiate with others.
- Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programs of care.
- Able to work as an effective team member.
