Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Paediatrician to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to children with diabetes and other acute paediatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine day-to-day acute paediatric services, including the first fit clinic
  • Contribute to the wide range of acute paediatric services, including the first fit clinic
  • Attend Consultant on a 1 in 5 week basis on the General Paediatric ward
  • Provide on-call cover with a frequency of 1 in 8, including weekends and Bank holidays
  • Participate in strategic planning of services with local partners
  • Contribute to the delivery of educational activities and training of juniors
Requirements
  • Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC in paediatrics or be within six months of obtaining CCT
  • High standard of clinical skill in Acute General Paediatrics
  • Able to contribute to the full range of skills for the on-call rota
  • Safeguarding level 3 training
  • Management training or completion of CCT
  • Supervision of postgraduate trainees
  • Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
Language
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
