Job Summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant to join their department for a 1-year period. The successful candidate will provide specialist care to patients, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Main Duties

The post holder will be responsible for leading the provision of excellent care for people with diabetes in hospital, delivering daily in-patient diabetes reviews and working closely with the Diabetes Inpatient Specialist nurses and the Podiatry team. The post is full-time, including 1 PA for General Medicine on-call.

The Trust operates two busy general hospitals, Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospital, with Accident and Emergency departments (A&E) and Maternity services (Obstetrics).

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MB BS or equivalent
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • CCT (or to be obtained within 6 months)

Desirable qualifications include a relevant higher degree and experience in a clinical area of special interest within diabetes or endocrinology.

The post holder will need to demonstrate safe use of equipment and efficiency in using the resources available, as well as understanding the principles of clinical governance and experience of clinical audit.
