Job Title: Embedded Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Design Engineer to join our team in Buckinghamshire. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for the full product life cycle of electronic hardware design and embedded software development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the embedded design function and design authority for all PCB and firmware solutions.
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on specification, and suited to the customer base.
  • Develop embedded design specifications and concepts for new products and accessories.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate and verify new machine and control concepts.
  • Control PCB and firmware design standards.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge and expertise in embedded design and controls.

Requirements:

  • High level of competence in Altium and similar design systems.
  • Strong hardware design capabilities, with a particular aptitude to power electronics and integration with other machine systems.
  • Strong competence in beneficial languages and tools for data processing, visualisation, and analysis.
  • PCB test rig and process design.
  • Soldering of PTH & SMD devices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically competent with MS Excel and/or other data processing tools.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
  • DFM/DFA, VA/VE, FMEA.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and an understanding of mechanical design principles.
