ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Embedded Hardware Engineer to join our team at SAVA, a pioneering company in biosensing technology. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining embedded hardware components for our next-generation wearable medical devices, bespoke testing tools, and manufacturing aids.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including Embedded Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sensor Development, and App and Back-End Development, to champion engineering best practices and drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware-related fields, with experience in product PCBA design, experimental feature feasibility investigations, hardware test setup development, and process improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop embedded hardware components for wearable medical devices, testing tools, and manufacturing aids.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into electronics architectures and block diagrams.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance processes for developing efficient, reliable, and maintainable embedded systems.
  • Capture and pull through requirements from implementation to system-level testing.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Low power hardware optimization.
  • Small PCBA size optimization.
  • Fluent in mechanical integration trade-offs.
  • Schematic design.
  • Multi-layer PCB design.
  • Hardware bring-up.
  • High precision low noise analogue.
  • Measurement uncertainty stack-ups.
  • Digital circuits, MCUs, digital buses (I2C, SPI, etc.).
  • RF design principles, impedance matching, and transmission lines.
  • BLE Antenna design.
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601 and translating requirements to electronic design features.
  • Design for Excellence (Design for X).
  • Manufacturability.
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility.
  • Testability.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
  • Knowledge of mains-facing circuits, design techniques, and general user safety.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
