Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Toxicology Expert to join our team at the Water Research Centre. As a key member of our NCET team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the expansion of our services in toxicology and driving future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Technical Excellence: Provide expert technical guidance and support to clients on hazard and risk assessment of chemicals, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.
- Develop Strategic Plans: Collaborate with senior colleagues to develop a go-to-market strategy for scientific and regulatory services focusing on human health and environmental toxicology, and risk assessment.
- Support Business Development: Contribute to business development activities, including market engagement, proposal development, and securing new projects, to drive growth and revenue.
- Lead Project Delivery: Oversee project delivery, providing guidance and support to junior staff, and ensuring timely and successful project completion.
- Line Management: Foster growth, development, and engagement of direct reports, providing coaching and mentoring to help them achieve their full potential.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional tasks as required, within your level of capability, to support the evolving needs of the company.
Requirements:
- Education: PhD or MSc in toxicology or a related field, with substantial post-graduate experience in a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Substantial technical knowledge in toxicology, risk assessment, and chemical regulation, with a strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Professional Development: Active member of relevant professional bodies, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial and delivery awareness, with the ability to contribute to developing strong teams and building trusted client relationships.
Benefits:
- Salary: Competitive salary, paying from £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Flexible Working Hours: Flexible working hours based on a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday.
