About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and empathetic individual to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for education, SEN support, and using physical activity to inspire and motivate young learners.

You will work closely with the classroom teacher to differentiate lessons and provide one-on-one and group support to pupils with SEN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Students with SEN: Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Collaborating with Classroom Teachers: Assist in differentiating lessons to meet the unique needs of SEN students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Using Sports and Physical Activities: Leverage sports and physical activities to promote students' learning, development, and emotional well-being.
  • Inclusive Learning Environment: Support students with physical disabilities in participating in sports and classroom activities, creating an inclusive atmosphere for all students.

Requirements:

  • A-level, foundation degree, or degree in Sports or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN.
  • Strong communication and empathy skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Two or more references covering the last 24 months.
  • Experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
