Lead Clinical Nurse for Blood Donation

You will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring they are motivated, well-trained, and capable of delivering excellent care to blood donors. Your leadership skills and clinical expertise will be crucial in fostering a positive working environment, providing ongoing training, and support, and addressing any team issues or concerns that arise.

This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements to ensure the delivery of exceptional care while making critical decisions that affect donor safety and the overall quality of the service. You will use your judgment to assess whether potential donors meet the necessary health and safety criteria for blood donation, considering their medical history, current health status, and other relevant factors.

As a Lead Clinical Nurse, you will maintain your professional development to help improve practice and contribute to continuous learning within the organization. This includes participating in activities to develop your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with industry developments, and sharing best practices with colleagues.

The normal hours for this role are 3 days per week/ 6 days per fortnight, with early shifts starting at 07:30 and late shifts finishing at 21:00. Weekend and bank holiday working will be required, but you can expect not to work more than 5 days a week. Long hours may be involved, but there is flexibility in the role to balance work and personal life.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration as Registered Nurse Adult.
  • A full and valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points (check if applicable).
