About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Geriatric Medicine to join our expanding team of senior medical staff at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of innovative services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and meetings.
  • Develop and implement sub-specialty interests that align with the Trust's strategic direction.
  • Contribute to teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
  • Participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education.
  • Undertake ward rounds and provide cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a qualified Consultant in Geriatric Medicine, with a CCT or equivalent, and MRCP (UK) or equivalent. They will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
