About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant in Geriatric Medicine to join our pioneering Department of Older Persons' Services (DOPS) at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our older patients and contributing to the development of innovative services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting, working closely with colleagues to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement sub-specialty interests that align with the Trust's strategic direction, including active participation in audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the delivery of training and supervision to junior colleagues, ensuring the development of a skilled and confident team.
  • Participate in clinical audit and continuing medical education, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in geriatric medicine.
  • Undertake ward rounds and provide cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
