Job Description

We are seeking a high-impact technology senior lawyer to lead interpretation of the EU AI Act and regulations with respect to Lenovo's business and products. This role involves assisting worldwide multifunction teams in implementing compliance processes and providing counsel to diverse client groups regarding the Act and legal matters relating to artificial intelligence generally.

About the Role
This position requires understanding and interpreting EU AI Act requirements as they apply to Lenovo, working with internal and external government relations professionals and outside counsel to strategically engage with relevant regulators and agencies, assisting global legal and compliance teams in developing and implementing compliance measures, and providing advice and support to diverse client groups regarding EU AI Act and AI legal matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret EU AI Act requirements and their application to Lenovo's business and products.
  • Strategically engage with relevant regulators and agencies, collaborating with internal and external government relations professionals and outside counsel.
  • Develop and implement compliance measures for global legal and compliance teams.
  • Provide counsel and support to diverse client groups on EU AI Act and AI legal matters.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a JD or LLM degree and admission to practice law. You should have at least 12 years of legal counseling, drafting, and negotiation experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably focused on AI, software, SaaS, and related technologies. Experience with legal and regulatory interpretation concerning advanced technology is essential, along with effective interpersonal interaction, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving skills. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are also required. Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously under deadline pressure, you should demonstrate exceptional judgment, integrity, and the ability to give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives. A strong team player who can work well with colleagues in all functional groups, committed to personal growth and development by actively seeking feedback and responding constructively.
