About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Counsel to join our team at Suntory Beverage and Food GB&I. As a key member of our Executive Committee, you will lead the legal function, shaping and executing the legal strategy for our business in Great Britain and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a talented team of lawyers, providing expert legal guidance to senior management and overseeing our legal and compliance activities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive legal strategy, ensuring alignment with our broader Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Legal function.
- Work closely with the wider European legal team to drive business growth and success.
- Provide strategic leadership, overseeing the drafting, negotiation, and management of commercial agreements.
- Chair the Ethics & Compliance Committee, leading risk management initiatives and handling crisis/incident management.
- Drive the transformation of the Legal function, working with regional colleagues to embed new practices and digital innovations.
Requirements
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in commercial law, with a focus on commercial contracts.
- Proven expertise in people management, with a visionary and empowering leadership style.
- Fluent in English and experience working with board-level members handling complex legal matters.
- Ability to translate strategy and vision into relevant targets and actions for the wider team.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving capabilities to lead the legal strategy for GB&I and support the regional legal strategy.
