Early Years Outreach Specialist

Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Years and Outreach Worker to join our team in the Ladywood District. As an integral part of our service, you will play a vital role in supporting families with young children, promoting their well-being, and fostering a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct holistic assessments of children's development, using the ASQ assessment framework, to identify areas of strength and need.
- Design and deliver targeted group work, including stay and play sessions, speech and language activities, and family learning programs, to promote children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Provide guidance and support to families on childcare options, child development, and early education, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Engage with local partners and communities to promote key public health messages, such as infant feeding, weaning, and oral health, and deliver workshops as required.
- Support parents with children under 5 who require assistance with emotional health and behaviors, ensuring inclusive practice and signposting to additional specialist support as needed.
- Make effective links with Family Support staff, sharing relevant information to ensure seamless support for children and families.
- Attend and participate in multi-agency meetings, providing reports and contributing to the development of strategies to support vulnerable families.
- A strong understanding of child development and the needs of families with young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, and travel independently across the Ladywood District.
- A full driving license and use of a personal vehicle would be an advantage.
