Job Opportunity:

Role Summary

The Pastoral Care Officer role at GSL Education - Hull involves providing emotional and social support to students. You will be responsible for mentoring, facilitating well-being programs, and collaborating with teachers to create a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group pastoral care to students addressing their emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
  • Facilitate wellness programs, including workshops and activities that promote mental health, resilience, and emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to identify students who may need additional support and provide timely interventions.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of pastoral care sessions and monitor student progress.
  • Assist in developing and implementing school-wide initiatives to promote student well-being, including anti-bullying and diversity programs.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to support students effectively.
  • Provide mentoring and support during key transition periods for students.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a pastoral care role, counselling, or similar youth support services.
  • A strong understanding of child development, mental health, and the challenges students may face.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, social work, or counselling is desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
