We are seeking a compassionate and diligent Pastoral Care Officer to provide emotional and social support to students at our school in Scarborough.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a pastoral care role, counselling, or similar youth support services and a strong understanding of child development, mental health, and the challenges students may face.

The Pastoral Care Officer will be responsible for providing individual and group pastoral care to students, addressing their emotional, social, and behavioural needs. This will include facilitating wellness programs, including workshops and activities that promote mental health, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Additionally, the Pastoral Care Officer will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to identify students who may need additional support and provide timely interventions. They will also maintain clear and accurate records of pastoral care sessions and monitor student progress.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral care role, counselling, or similar youth support services
  • A strong understanding of child development, mental health, and the challenges students may face
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
