Empowering Students with Additional Needs

Sensory Support Assistants play a vital role in empowering students with sensory impairments or special educational needs to thrive in their educational environment.

Your Role:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with sensory needs, adapting learning materials and classroom environments to ensure sensory accessibility.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and sensory strategies, promoting a positive, inclusive atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure each child's needs are met effectively.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with sensory impairments or special needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are crucial for success in this role.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are required to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
  • A valid DBS certificate is necessary for this position.
