About the Role

We're seeking a Claims Leadership Executive to oversee and handle all excess casualty and professional lines insurance claims emanating from policies written by Argo Insurance in Bermuda. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for the effective management of a team of three claims adjusters to ensure department goals are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training, mentoring, and technical oversight of employees
  • Hire and retain qualified staff, ensuring employee performance objectives and metrics are in place and being met
  • Conduct quality assurance audits and provide feedback
  • Manage expenditures to budget/plan
  • Support the underwriting team, actuaries, and senior management
  • Advise on claims developments, trends, and market issues
  • Attend client meetings and market events to assist with business acquisition and developing the book
Requirements
  • A minimum 10 years' experience adjudicating direct excess casualty & professional lines claims with limited direction
  • A proven ability to negotiate, problem solve, and make decisions with sound and reasoned judgment
  • Prior experience effectively managing claims adjusters preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of assessing coverage under the Bermuda form, London, and US excess forms
  • Ability to analyze complex coverage issues and challenge legal advice
  • Ability to build strong relationships with brokers and other insurance market participants
