About the Role

The Research Finance team at UCL Eastman Dental Institute plays a pivotal role in supporting research funding proposals and post-award finance processes. As a Senior Research Finance Officer, you will work closely with academics, the Director of Research, and colleagues across the Central UCL teams to oversee research grant and project funding administration processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent advice to stakeholders on UCL policies and procedures, as well as best practice in research finance.
  • Work with the Senior Finance and Resources Manager to support the research finance-related development of the Research, Finance and Operations Administrator.
  • Build positive working relationships with staff, UCL departments, internal and external partners, and stakeholders, including charities and government institutions.

About You

To be successful as a Senior Research Finance Officer, you will need:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent, or relevant experience in managing financial processes.
  • Knowledge of research funding processes and regulations within a Higher Education or similar research environment.
  • Experience in providing administrative assistance in the preparation of research funding applications.
  • Experience in using online financial systems for budgeting and costing proposals.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to liaise, network, and influence a variety of people at all levels of the university.
