About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary school in Southport. This is a long-term role, starting as soon as possible, where you will be working with KS3 and KS4 students, supporting the class teacher, managing behaviour, and completing 1:1 and group work with pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment
  • Work with students who require additional support, including those with special educational needs
  • Assist with behaviour management and develop strategies to promote positive behaviour
  • Complete 1:1 and group work with pupils, providing additional support and guidance
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 3)
  • Have previous experience working with children within the last 2 years
  • Two references for work within a school/with children
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils
