**Job Title:** Chief Engineer - Technology Strategy

**Job Description:**


We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our Technology Strategy team at the Financial Conduct Authority. As a key member of our Technology division, you will play a critical role in shaping the FCA's technology strategy to drive innovation and excellence in financial services.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and transforming engineering teams in a digital transformation context. You will be responsible for driving creation of policies and standards, defining key measures and metrics, and promoting a DevSecOps mindset across the organisation.


As a seasoned engineering leader, you will have the opportunity to work across the organisation, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to introduce new modern ways of working and value to the FCA. This will include a requirement to travel to various locations to build strong links with our teams.


**Responsibilities:**



  • Lead and inspire a diverse engineering team to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
  • Drive the creation of policies and standards, and define key measures and metrics
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives and promote a DevSecOps mindset
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to introduce new modern ways of working and value

**Requirements:**



  • Proven track record of successfully leading and transforming engineering teams in a digital transformation context
  • Experience of agile, scrum and kanban with application at an enterprise level
  • Experience of leading in-house and partner teams across different locations
  • Understanding of the financial services industry, including its regulations, processes and the broader financial ecosystem
