Job Title: Communications Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Officer to join our team at Unilever. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our communications strategy, managing our web presence, and leading on social media activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and delivery of our communications strategy, working closely with our team to create engaging content and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with our staff and grant holders to write, edit, and proofread a range of communication materials, including digital assets and messaging for key digital channels.
  • Develop and commission digital assets, such as podcasts and short films, to showcase our research and grant schemes.
  • Plan and organize virtual and live events as part of our communications strategy, working with our team to create engaging and interactive experiences.
  • Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of communications activities, analyzing results to inform future strategy.
  • Manage our advertising and email marketing campaigns, working with our team to create effective and engaging content.
  • Identify and maintain a database of key stakeholders, providing timely and relevant information to them as appropriate.
  • Generate lists and reports from our grants management system to be used in publicity material.

Requirements:

  • Education to degree level, with highly developed IT skills.
  • Experience in communications, with a focus on digital and social media.
  • Proven ability to work independently, taking initiative when necessary and prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-specialist audience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with our team and stakeholders, with excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
