The role of Central Payments Administrator at Liverpool in Work involves contributing to and monitoring processes and procedures to maintain effective central payments systems and income recovery on behalf of the force. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting and deputising for the Exchequer Services Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the equivalent of a part-qualified Accounting Technician [AAT] qualification. You will also require excellent oral and written communication skills to address and negotiate individual repayment issues, as well as the ability to prioritise workloads. Knowledge of current VAT and Construction Industry Scheme legislation is essential, particularly in relation to accounts payable and receivable.

Experience of operating within strict internal financial procedures and external financial policies, such as the Home Office, is required. You will need to be able to issue legally enforceable invoices and recover income in a timely manner. Additionally, knowledge of law and legal process, specifically in relation to debtors, is crucial to offer solutions and suggest legitimate courses of action.

The Central Payments Administrator will provide informed suggestions to both managers and Knowsley Legal Services on debt recovery matters. Experience of working with financial accounting systems and a clear understanding of key interfaces between the General Ledger, Debtors & Creditors modules is essential.
