About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Homicide Family Support Specialist to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to families bereaved by and witness to homicide, coordinating a tailored package of support to service users and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload to the highest quality standards, providing trauma-informed advocacy and support to service users.
  • Work closely with Police Major Crime teams, providing briefings on the work we do in the Homicide Service (HS).
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Police Major Crime teams and other agencies.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of service users' needs, identifying and addressing any gaps in support.
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring that service users receive the best possible support.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the impact of crime on victims and their families.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi-agency setting(s).
  • Ability to balance competing needs and priorities, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality support to service users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working.
