Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Metallic Machinist to join our Machine Shop at Williams Racing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing complex metal components for our Formula One race cars and associated jigs and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality metal components in a timely and efficient manner to meet the demands of our Formula One program.
  • Ensure components are produced in the most efficient and cost-effective way, while maintaining tight delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with our Toolpath Programming team to solve problems and improve machining processes.
  • Liaise with fellow machinists and other departments to ensure best practices are established and utilized.
  • Perform inspections and quality control checks on components to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Collect and record shop floor data using our Data Collection Software.
  • Communicate effectively with other shifts to ensure a smooth handover and minimize production downtime.
  • Record and document all relevant information to ensure the smooth running of future demand.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving production efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of manufacturing metal and non-metallic components from high-quality materials.
  • Strong knowledge of setting and operating Fanuc-controlled lathes and turn-mill machine tools.
  • Ability to program manually and/or conversationally.
  • Experience running multiple machines and planning ahead.
  • Recognized apprenticeship or relevant experience in a precision engineering environment.
  • Good depth of machining knowledge in CNC and manual machining.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take pride in your work.
  • Attention to detail and a 'can-do' attitude.
  • High degree of flexibility, self-motivation, team ethic, and initiative.
  • Strong work ethic and positive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to work extended hours on occasion.
