Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Lead Playwork Assessor to join our team at Pearson in London, United Kingdom.

As a key member of our assessment team, you will be responsible for evaluating the performance of candidates in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures. Your primary focus will be on maintaining overall standards and ensuring that all EPA reports and assessment evidence are of high quality and accurately recorded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing, relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Follow protocols set out in Pearson's specifications, assessment materials, and quality assurance protocols relating to EPAs
  • Maintain service-level agreements regarding responding to EPA planning, operational activities, reports, and submissions of assessment outcomes
  • Report all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to Pearson, including any suspected malpractice/maladministration

Person Specification:

  • Hold a current DBS certificate
  • Have worked in the industry within the last 2 years

Occupational Profiles:

  • Have recent relevant experience of the occupation or sector to at least occupational level 2 gained in the last 2 years or significant experience of the occupation or sector
  • Have worked with children and young people as a playworker in settings which do not conflict with the Play work Principles and ethos of play work
  • Practical knowledge of the play work principles and play work theory – specifically play cycle, play types, intervention styles, risk-benefit assessment, and reflective practice

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role also comes with benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a comprehensive pension scheme.
