About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a member of our community-based mental health service, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support children, young people, and adults with mild to moderate mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver face-to-face, remote video, and telephone sessions to clients presenting with depression and anxiety.
  • Work autonomously within the service, managing your caseload and time effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Recognized postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy, such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, or humanistic therapy.
  • Professionally accredited/registered as a counsellor or psychotherapist.
  • Experience of working in a Primary Care setting, preferably in an IAPT service.
  • Ability to work with diverse client groups, including children, young people, and adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation and policies.

Contract and Working Pattern

This is a permanent, part-time position with flexible working hours and compressed hours available.
