About the Role

The Bedfordshire Charitable Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in achieving its strategic objectives. As a key member of the Trust's leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to drive the Trust's mission forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve the Trust's objectives
  • Oversee the grant application process and work with the Accounts Officer to make recommendations for the Trustees
  • Manage the Trust's finances, including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Lead the Trust's Development Sub-Committee and oversee the management of land and properties
  • Work closely with the Chair of Trustees on strategic matters and high-profile issues
  • Ensure the Trust's governance structures, policies, and procedures are in place and compliant with best practice

Requirements

  • Proven leadership and management experience in a charitable or not-for-profit organization
  • Strong financial and budgeting skills, with experience of managing budgets and financial reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to create strategic partnerships and act as an ambassador for the Trust

About the Trust

The Bedfordshire Charitable Trust was established in 1964 by members of the Ibbett family. The Trust's vision is to improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged or vulnerable individuals and communities, support Christian initiatives, and relieve suffering in crisis and humanitarian need. The Trust has a strong track record of grant-making, with over 1,250 awards made since its inception, and a current annual grant-making average of £150k.
