About the Role

The Bedfordshire Charitable Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in achieving its strategic objectives. As a key member of the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for overseeing the grant application process, managing the trust's finances, and ensuring the effective governance of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve the trust's objectives
  • Oversee the grant application process and make recommendations to the Trustees
  • Manage the trust's finances, including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Ensure the effective governance of the organization, including compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Work closely with the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders to achieve the trust's objectives

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a charitable or non-profit organization
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
  • Ability to create strategic partnerships and act as an ambassador for the trust

About the Trust

The Bedfordshire Charitable Trust was established in 1964 by members of the Ibbett family. The trust's vision is to improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged or vulnerable individuals and communities, support Christian initiatives, and relieve suffering in crisis and situations of humanitarian need. The trust has a strong track record of grant-making, with over 1,250 awards made since its inception.
