Job Opportunity: Shift Environmental Monitoring Scientist

The successful candidate will work as part of a pharmaceutical testing laboratory in the North West of England, conducting various responsibilities related to microbiology and environmental monitoring.

About the Role:
  1. Perform microbiological testing and validation according to GMP/cGMP guidelines.
  2. Conduct regular environmental monitoring to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  3. Review and reconcile all environmental monitoring samples at the end of each production run.
  4. Responsible for technical review of documents, including data verification and reconciliation.
  5. Provide updates to clients and maintain effective communication with external partners.
  6. Conduct media preparation, culturing microorganisms, and perform various microbiology tests, such as Bioburden testing, sterility testing, and bacterial endotoxin testing.
  7. Verify laboratory data and review results to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Microbiology or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical testing laboratory, with a focus on microbiology testing.
  3. Proven track record of conducting environmental monitoring and validation.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced commercial analytical testing laboratory environment.
  5. Experience working with GMP guidelines and regulations.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a permanent opportunity with a negotiable salary (£35,000 - £45,000) and additional benefits, including a competitive package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
