We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and Complex Care ward at The Portland Hospital for Women & Children. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the development of our junior nurses.
Job Summary
- Lead a team of nurses in providing high-quality patient care and support.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Mentor and support junior nurses in their professional development.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families during challenging times.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of educational programs for junior nurses.
Requirements
- NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support.
- Experience working within Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and complex care needs.
- Experience with tracheostomised patients is desirable.
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits.
- Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable.
