About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Railway Signalling Engineer to join our team in Frodingham. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) transformation, upgrading train control systems to create a more dynamic, reliable, and flexible railway.

  • Support the management team in monitoring progress and ensuring delivery planning and implementation on all projects.
  • Assess the consistency and technical compatibility of different System baselines with the Professional Head of Plant Engineering.
  • Take responsibility for safety aspects related to CSM and CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, Company procedures including project Safety Plan input.
  • Lead the transition of ETCS to business as usual and provide ongoing support for engineering-related activities.

Fleet Fitment:

  • Technical and contractual requirements of the ETCS project.
  • Consultation with Internal Engineering and Operational departments to review ETCS technical documentation within contractual timeframes.
  • Project meeting structure development.
  • Organising OTM surveys across the UK to support the First-in-Class fitment plan.
  • Effective consultation with other project stakeholders, including Network Rail, OEMs, Approvals Bodies, ORR, and ETECS Equipment Suppliers.
  • Future development and training requirements to support current maintenance resource.
About You

Essential:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills with task management and people leadership experience.
  • Leadership skills driving team performance.
  • Member of the IET, IRSE, or other recognised professional body.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Signal and Railway Engineering.
  • Delivering Digital Railway Signalling (ETCS) and Control Systems.
