We are seeking a Senior Signalling Design Expert to join our Rail, Structures and Ground Engineering Team.

About the Role

As a Senior Signalling Design Expert, you will be responsible for providing design delivery support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion. This includes verification of railway signalling designs specifications and reports, ensuring all deliverables comply with company procedures, contractual and statutory requirements, and liaising with clients, stakeholders, and external railway contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide design delivery support in day-to-day duties throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Verify railway signalling designs specifications and reports.
  • Liaise and meet with clients, stakeholders, and external railway contractors.
  • Mentor, support, guide, and develop junior staff.
Requirements
  • Holds a current IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence (1.1.550) and Signalling Design Verifier Licence (1.1.160).
  • Substantial mainline signalling design experience, including knowledge of UK railway standards, design processes and procedures at outline (scheme development) and/or detailed design stages of delivery.
  • Design verification experience across a range of project phases (outline, detail design), systems and technologies.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to the delivery of signalling designs to the highest standards of safety and quality along with a clear understanding of risk assessment / hazard identification, management, and mitigation throughout the signalling design process.
