Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Signalling Design Expert to join our team at AECOM. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality signalling designs and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have substantial mainline signalling design experience, including knowledge of UK railway standards, design processes, and procedures. They should also hold current IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence (1.1.550) and Signalling Design Verifier Licence (1.1.160).

About the Role

This is a key position within our Rail, Structures and Ground Engineering Team, working on projects spanning transportation infrastructure. As a Senior Signalling Design Expert, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing design delivery support in day-to-day duties throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.
  • Verification of railway signalling designs specifications and reports.
  • Liaising and meeting with clients, stakeholders, and external railway contractors.
  • Mentoring, support, guidance, and development of junior staff.

You will work closely with other team disciplines, departments, and externally to ensure all deliverables comply with company procedures, contractual, and statutory requirements. The salary for this position is estimated to be around £65,000-£90,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
