Theatre Sound Professional Apprenticeship

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for an apprentice to join our highly experienced and friendly Sound team in a prestigious theatre company. As a Theatre Sound Professional Apprentice, you will be involved in all aspects of the sound department, from programming sound equipment to operating shows and events.
About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their practical ability and gain a qualification in technical theatre. You will work towards the successful completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship, which will enable you to gain a wide range of skills and techniques used in the industry.
As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of sound professionals and learn from their expertise. You will also have access to dedicated training time, which will include in-house training and training from external suppliers.
What You Will Be Doing- Programming sound equipment and maintaining plots and backups of shows
- Fault finding, repairing, and maintenance of sound equipment
- Operating shows, rehearsals, and events
To be eligible for this role, you must meet specific entry requirements of the apprenticeship. These include:
- Lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
- Resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme
- Commitment to incorporated qualifications, such as Maths and English functional skills if you don't already have them or of equivalence
- Commitment to work flexibly as part of the team
- Dedicated apprenticeship mentor who will tailor your learning experience
- The opportunity to shadow other departments to expand your overall knowledge of theatre craft
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for the duration of the 2-year apprenticeship. Working hours will be a yearly average of 40 hours per week, scheduled in advance, including evening and weekend work.
