We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced vascular scientist to join our team for a fixed-term period to cover maternity leave.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified vascular scientist to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, utilizing your skills and expertise to deliver high-quality patient care. As a Clinical Vascular Scientist, you will be responsible for performing and reporting on a range of vascular ultrasound diagnostic investigations, including peripheral arterial and venous duplex, carotid duplex, DVT scanning, ABPI measurement, and mapping/monitoring of dialysis access patients.

You will also play a key role in teaching and supervising trainees, participating in departmental audits, and contributing to the development of protocols for vascular investigations. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure will enable you to effectively collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and report on vascular ultrasound diagnostic investigations to a high standard, adhering to departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in the teaching and supervision of trainees, ensuring they receive comprehensive training and support.
  • Participate in departmental audits to monitor the accuracy and usefulness of the service.
  • Contribute to the development of protocols for vascular investigations, ensuring they are evidence-based and effective.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care and optimal patient outcomes.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced vascular scientist who possesses a BSc in a Science subject and is accredited by the Society for Vascular Technology of Great Britain & Ireland (SVT) or has completed Vascular STP training. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Benefits

As a Clinical Vascular Scientist at University Hospitals Dorset, you can expect a competitive salary of £42,000 - £62,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
