Job Summary
Recruit4staff are representing a leading food manufacturer in their search for a Maintenance Engineer to work in their facility in Shropshire. This is a temporary contract initially lasting a few months, offering an attractive hourly rate of £25-£27 DOE. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing faults, and testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical/electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out Planned and Preventative maintenance to agreed schedules.
  • To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical /Electrical equipment.
  • Carry out autonomous breakdown tasks and preventative maintenance tasks competently and correctly, recording work carried out in appropriate documentation/data base (CMMS).
  • To interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and equipment.
  • Reduce production waste.
The successful candidate should have previous experience in a similar role in a maintenance environment, with a mechanically biased background. Additionally, they must be able to attend an induction this week and start on Sunday the 24th of November. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or ONC/HNC or equivalent in either Mechanical or electrical disciplines or Degree trained is essential. The ideal candidate will also possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
