About the RoleThis role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and want to continue their journey towards qualifying as a Speech and Language Therapist. As a Speech and Language Assistant, you will work closely with the school's SENCO to provide 1:1 support to pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 who require specialist intervention to develop their speech and language skills.
Key Responsibilities- To create and deliver interactive sessions to assist pupils in understanding spoken language, speech sound pronunciation, attention, and listening skills.
- To work one-to-one with pupils who have behavioral, emotional, social, and medical needs.
- To produce engaging materials to help pupils develop their communication skills.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A First Class degree in Linguistics or a related field.
- An enthusiasm for working with children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The salary for this role is £450-£500 per week, paid on a PAYE basis. In addition, you will receive:
- A competitive salary.
- The opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapist one day a week.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities.
