Linguistics Graduate Role for Aspiring Speech and Language Therapists

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Linguistics Graduate to join our team as a Speech and Language Assistant in a reputable school in Brent. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who specialize in Linguistics or Psychology to gain valuable experience and develop their skills in working with pupils with speech and language difficulties.

About the Role

This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and want to continue their journey towards qualifying as a Speech and Language Therapist. As a Speech and Language Assistant, you will work closely with the school's SENCO to provide 1:1 support to pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 who require specialist intervention to develop their speech and language skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • To create and deliver interactive sessions to assist pupils in understanding spoken language, speech sound pronunciation, attention, and listening skills.
  • To work one-to-one with pupils who have behavioral, emotional, social, and medical needs.
  • To produce engaging materials to help pupils develop their communication skills.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A First Class degree in Linguistics or a related field.
  • An enthusiasm for working with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £450-£500 per week, paid on a PAYE basis. In addition, you will receive:
