Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Taunton, Somerset. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our purchasing strategy to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and implementing a purchasing strategy to ensure efficient supply chain management.
  2. Reviewing stock profiles and introducing new or improved methods of inventory control.
  3. Monitoring and forecasting inventory trends to ensure timely delivery from suppliers.
  4. Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and customers to ensure seamless operations.
  5. Networking with the supply chain to maximise pricing strategies and agreements.
  6. Managing inventory, including storage, locations, transactions, and bills of materials.
  7. Implementing and maintaining a perpetual stock take programme.
  8. Completing transactions in accordance with procedures.
  9. Maintaining agreed inventory levels and recommending adjustments.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  1. A CIPS qualification or relevant experience within the procurement field.
  2. A background in engineering with a service and manufacturing profile.
  3. The ability to inspire confidence in customers and suppliers.
  4. Commercial acumen to maximise financial returns.
  5. A high level of competency in IT systems.
  6. An understanding of stock management systems and financial controls.
