Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Management Specialist to join our Telecommunications Team at HS2. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project management support to the Senior Project Manager / Project Manager (Rail Systems) and the Rail Systems Programme.

Key Responsibilities

Provide project management support to one or more of the Rail Systems Senior Project Managers / Project Managers for their allocated project.
Support the monitoring of the change generated from both the Construction/Delivery teams is appropriately managed; including scope changes and cost changes that impact on the affordability of the project, escalating issues to the Senior Project / Project Manager as required.
Support robust reporting on the progression of their project deliverables to the Senior Project Manager/ Project Manager and more broadly within the Railway systems programme at any required forums / panels, on a routine and ad hoc basis.
Support the Senior Project Manager / Project Manager for ensuring that project plans are developed, maintained and analysed in order to identify and mitigate delivery risks.
Support the Senior Project Manager / Project Manager in identifying and ensuring that appropriate mitigating actions are implemented to address potential milestone slippages and escalating issues as required.

Requirements

Project management - the ability to plan and integrate programmes of work and effectively manage those projects.
Collaboration Skills - ability to interact with Programme/Project Managers and colleagues in many different disciplines across HS2 to achieve successful outcomes.
Computer literate and proficient at using Office productivity and team working applications.
Understanding of project and programme management.
Experience in a business/commercial environment.
Experience of developing management competencies within a project or programme.
