About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs in a fantastic alternative provision based in the heart of Redbridge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support to students in lessons, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Act as a positive role model, building strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Support students with challenging behavior, using de-escalation techniques and strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a PRU or SEMH school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with students and staff.
  • Resilient personality, with a calm and patient approach to working with challenging behavior.
  • De-escalation training would be an advantage, but not essential.
