Biology Educator Position in Scotland

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Biology teacher to join our successful team at George Heriot's School. As a member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our school community by delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement engaging curricula, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback.
Our Biology Department is renowned for its excellent facilities, dedicated technicians, and committed teachers who strive to make science education challenging and rewarding for all students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across various levels, from National 5 to Advanced Higher, and participate fully in the extracurricular life of the school.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Biology to students across various age groups and ability levels
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and use data to inform instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum initiatives
- Registered or eligible for registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS)
- Proven experience in teaching Biology, with a strong understanding of the Scottish curriculum
- A collegiate working style, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and a commitment to staying up-to-date with best practices in education
