About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Safe Haven Peer Practitioner. As a key member of our crisis support team, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer support and guidance to individuals in crisis, drawing on your own personal experiences and knowledge of mental health recovery.
  • Work collaboratively with our established team to ensure the smooth operation of our Safe Haven service.
  • Support individuals in setting and achieving personal goals, using a strengths-based approach.
  • Remain calm and professional in challenging situations, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to express themselves.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within the mental health sector, with a strong understanding of crisis support principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and empathy, with a non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals in crisis.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check at the enhanced level, as required by our safeguarding policies.
