About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial and Regulatory Legal Counsel to join our dynamic Legal team at McDonald's Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice on commercial matters, supporting various departments across the business, and contributing to the development of our company's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial legal advice on a wide range of matters, including contract negotiations, data protection, intellectual property, and marketing law.
  • Work collaboratively with legal and business colleagues to manage commercial transactions, identify risks, and provide solutions-driven advice.
  • Manage, supervise, and develop more junior members of the legal team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Provide legal advice to the Boards of the UK or Irish McDonald's companies, as applicable.
  • Proactively identify legal trends and regulatory changes to enhance company policies and procedures, develop communication and training programs, and ensure awareness and compliance across the business.
Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor with strong academic credentials and ideally 6+ years' PQE.
  • Significant experience and expertise in commercial legal matters, including contract law, data protection, intellectual property, and marketing law.
  • Strong track record of developing, managing, and supervising junior members of a legal team.
  • Effective communicator with strong drafting skills and the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Confident in advising the business on risk and taking risk-based decisions where necessary.
