Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom Welsh Ambulance Services Full time
Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust as an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner or Trainee Advanced Paramedic Practitioner.

The Advanced Paramedic Practice Team in Wales is developing significant momentum, and applications are sought from qualified APPs (band 7) or MSc students currently in receipt of WAST funding to undertake their MSc program.

TAPPs will work rotationally as patient-facing clinicians to deliver care, access patient pathways, and manage a caseload in emergency, urgent, and unscheduled care settings.

The Trust recognises the need for its workforce to represent the diversity of the population it serves across Wales and seeks to create an environment where diversity is celebrated and inclusivity matters.

Main Duties:
  • To provide advanced clinical interventions and drug therapies.
  • To act as an independent practitioner using advanced skills to assess, diagnose, treat, develop, and implement plans of care.
  • To work towards providing expert advanced practice and associated leadership of unscheduled care provision.
  • To act as an expert advisor for patients, carers, and operational clinicians.
  • To take a key role in the development of unscheduled care, enhancing patient care services through multiple research and development methodologies.
  • To respond to emergency and urgent calls, including driving under blue light conditions.

Both APP and TAPP positions are permanent, with TAPPs developing into full APP roles following successful completion of their training contract. If staff do not complete their MSc, they will be provided with the opportunity to relocate to a vacant or relief band 6 paramedic role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, and Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
