We are recruiting a Materials Testing Specialist to join our team at Tarmac Trading Limited.

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent position that will see you working as part of our Readymix Technical Team.
  • You will be responsible for the testing of Readymix and developing products, working closely with the Technical Manager.
  • Your work will involve site and laboratory-based activities, requiring you to obtain samples and conduct tests in line with company standards.
  • You will need to have a good understanding of civil engineering materials, materials testing, and site construction operations.
  • In addition to your technical skills, you should be able to communicate effectively with clients and provide technical information as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and undertake technical testing to ensure test regimes and workload are met, comply with Company systems.
  • Resolve quality issues, advise operations and Site Teams of results, and potentially suggest actions for improvement.
  • Test procedures: Ensure testing procedures are fully documented, understood, and communicated to comply with company standards.
  • Sampling & Testing: Carry out sampling and testing in line with contract requirements utilising in-house company Schedule and external 3rd party accredited test houses where required.

Requirements:

  • Full UK car driving licence with no more than 6 points, as you will have a company vehicle for business use.
  • Possession of NVQ level 3 Technician or similar relevant in-house certification would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Able to maintain electronic records to efficiently demonstrate conformity and provide supporting data.
